Convicted Live is a special theater evening in which journalist Lauren Fabels and criminal defense attorney Veerle Hammerstein engage in conversation with ex-convicts and the audience about crime, punishment, and second chances.

Based on their successful podcast Convicted, in which they focus on the person behind the crime, Lauren and Veerle offer a unique behind-the-scenes look at the criminal justice system and provide insight into the motivations of offenders.

Why does someone make a wrong choice at a crucial moment? What is it like to stand before a judge? And can you ever truly start over once you have been convicted? In this interactive performance, you will not only hear poignant stories from former convicts, but you will also be prompted to think about themes such as guilt, punishment, and forgiveness. What does it mean for us that almost every convicted person eventually returns to society?

Convicted Live is an evening full of open conversations, surprising insights, and real stories that show that behind every criminal record lies a person.

Spoken in Dutch!
