In his first full-length show "And forbid the birds to whistle," Ayoub tries to give meaning to all the experiences he has gone through so far.

Why do swallows build their nests in the mosque? What does a hedgehog have to do with FEBO walls? And can he trust that his mother has the answers? With music as a common thread, Ayoub takes you on a comforting quest for meaning in a performance full of captivating stories about food, illness, and his special bond with his mother.

Ayoub Kharkhach (1998) is a cabaret artist and Muslim. As the youngest child in a family of four, he grew up in Gouda. He graduated from the Higher Agricultural School in 's-Hertogenbosch. With nearly zero theater experience, he won the jury and audience award at the Amsterdam Cabaret Festival in 2024. The jury saw in him a 'good storyteller who has the courage to break boundaries.' Shortly thereafter, he became a volunteer at a hedgehog shelter. He also once sang in a gospel pop choir.

Een goede verhalenverteller. Met een machtige rust hield hij het publiek in zijn greep.
