In 'Golem' we are taken on a sharp, touching, and sometimes absurdly funny struggle between a widow and an ex-wife, who seem to have nothing in common – except their love for the same man.

In a stuffy apartment in Kyiv, Maria and Martha, the widow and the ex-wife of a fallen soldier, balance on the thin line between reality and delusion.

We are taken into a sharp, touching, and sometimes absurdly funny struggle between a widow and an ex-wife, who seem to have nothing in common – except their love for the same man. As Ukraine creaks under the consequences of war, Maria and Martha seek support in each other, in memories, and in a bizarre attempt to gain control over their loss.

With dark humor, raw emotion, and unexpected tenderness, ‘Golem’ tells the story of the silent victims of war – the survivors, the loved ones, the people we never read about in the newspapers. A poignant, captivating performance at Markant about love, loss, and the resilience of the human spirit.
