Discover the exciting fairy tale behind the wooden roller coaster Joris and the Dragon. The group of actors 'Troupe Efteling' tells the story of a desperate king who has been trying for years to get rid of the dragon that terrorizes his kingdom. To keep the dragon satisfied, he regularly gives it a sheep, but now… the sheep are gone. But the dragon is relentless. No sheep? Fine. Then children.
The king reasons that he still needs the boys to fight in his army, so he decides to feed the dragon a girl under 16 from time to time. And he lets fate decide. All names go into a tall hat, and a name is drawn. Meanwhile, the king offers a reward for anyone who defeats the dragon. Various men try, but the dragon laughs at them all. Week after week, a girl is brought to the dragon. And then the name of Princess Rosalie, the king's daughter, is drawn. Then Joris decides to take action. He is hopelessly in love with the princess and believes it is his duty to defeat the dragon. Will Joris succeed and will he rescue the princess from the dragon's claws?
